brutal .. just brutal — the Rays take the series at home.  I most definitely thought we could take 2 from them at beautiful US Cell , but no dice !!  They probably were out drinking on Saturday night and AJ figured that out to take advantage of them with his smooth play toward the end of the game. He did find a way to get the job done.  It was a little bizarre , but AJ does find interesting ways to get calls to go his way.  That one was most definitely a gold medal.

  Today … well a different story in the suspended game against the birds.  AJ  went from last night’s hero to tonight’s zero when a bunt in the suspended game was awful. On the flip side maybe Mr. AJ himself had a bit too much spirits as he couldn’t get the bunt down !!  No offense AJ - I still think you are a great player !!  HOWEVER, a balked ball, a homer by Thome (you can put 535 on the board — YESSS !! ), and a nice save by Jenks was the recipe for success in the later game.  As I write this , we are still ahead of the TWINS by .5 of a game and should be in good shape for the next two games (well hopefully) against the Orioles.  Clayton Richard pitched pretty well and hopefully will continue  successful contributions to this team.  On a sad note , Chris Getz got sent down.  I think he played pretty well during his limited time stint. Hopefully when the roster opens up very shortly , he can come back up !!

I cannot believe it is practically the end of August and September is just around the corner.  I start  work on Wednesday (yes — the kiddies need to be educated ). I am pretty darn sad that the summer is practically over, BUT there still is over a month of regular season baseball to be played !!  GO GO GO SOX !!!
