I thought that last night was going to be a winner with a 6-1 lead.  I had a hunch that the Twinkies would bounce back,  but I thought they would be just a run or two short to really end up on the wrong side of the win column. I didn’t think a sweep was going to be the ultimate result.   I guess I was indeed so WRONG on that hunch.  I crawled in bed feeling really down in the dumps.  I then was in my the bed for about a half an hour trying to go to sleep.  My mind kept thinking about the game and my tummy kept rumbling.  I tried to psychologically convince myself that everything would be okay.  The boys would pull a magic rabbit out of their hats today AT HOME and win against the Indians.    The Royals would keep playing good ball for the month of September and win against the Twinkies.  Finally with my mind racing and my tummy churning, I gave up and was able to sleep.  I woke up some 7 hours later refreshed and revived.  I didn’t have to teach the kiddies today (professional development) which meant I could dress a bit more casually than usual.  I decided to be POSITIVE and wear my nice SOX tank top.  I also brought my IPOD to work because I would have some down time at my desk doing teacher paper work ( I can see the CELL when I look to the right when sitting at my desk).   I played Thunderstruck, 4 minutes , Save a Horse -Ride a Cowboy,  He’s a Pirate , and Back in Black to put positive karma into the universe.  I came home from work and had an idea to look for tickets for the game tonight.  As soon as I started to do this my tummy just felt awful. I have a slight tummy problem and I SWEAR the last couple of days has made it WORSE !!   I took a powernap and then Diamond Darling and I texted each other back and forth to make dinner arrangements. Usually Friday night is our time to bond as bffs !!!   I got myself dolled up to go for dinner with the mindset that I would be interested in the game, but not to the point of obsession (like over the past few days – glued to the t.v. and cursing like a sailor).  This dramatically changed when my friend suggested we go to 50/50 Sports Restaurant/Lounge on Division.   We drove by looking for parking and right on the patio was a huge hdtv with the game on.  I definitely knew I was heading to the right place !!!! We finally got a parking spot near Andersen school ( a good sign already .. just change the e  to  o and you have ANDERSON ). When we got a table it was 3-2 !!! YEAH YEAH and the ROYALS were ahead of the Twinks.  This good fortune did not last as we couldn’t win !!!! The Royals gave the boys a beautiful gift tonight and they just couldn’t appreciate it.  They must have seen it as a re-gift !!! {btw– food at 50/50 is awesome, the atmosphere there is excellent, and the service is attentive }  Mathematically , the boys are not out of it .  Tomorrow has to end with a BETTER RESULT and maybe the Royals can give another gift to the boys (please Royals .. give them all a nice HOLIDAY gift) but this time the boys can appreciate it and not see it as a re-gift. !!
