Time to buy lots of antacids –

The series win in Detroit was nice.  The Twins pounding on us wasn’t so nice.  The Royals taking batting practice off of us this afternoon has been plain awful. I am hoping that the boys can get back some confidence when they come home because this road trip has been terrible on the tummy (for them and for US FANS ).   For sure I thought we would lose first place yesterday but for some odd reason the baseball powers that be decided to take mercy on the boys for another day. I was hoping it would make them (and management ) think a little more strategically about WHAT TO DO to stay at the top (but I guess that didn’t).   I do hope Contreras manages to pitch a good game there down on the farm because he is missed here (although he hasn’t had the best season).  I think the Clayton Richard experiment should be shelved for the time being.  The past three games with him have been interesting.  I feel he just wasnt’ ready to be up here pitching in the big leagues as of yet.   Now I might get a few jabs here and there on this but the trade for Junior/ Masset-Richar wasn’t what WAS needed to fully contend. (I KNOW that even if we slip to second we are not out of it, but I think our chances are getting slightly slimmer as time goes by). I was out of town when I heard about the trade and thought it was quite interesting.   I think that Masset probably could have done better than Richard the last three games and just didn’t have enough time to fully develop under Coop.  Now it has been said that Kenny digs Junior (and that is respected) , but I think we needed a GOOD strong backup infielder and some more pitching (as who knows what will happen with Crede and Linebrink being down has definitely been a problem). BUT I am not Kenny and I have no control of what happens.  I will just make sure I buy lots of antacids and maybe try some yoga or tai-chi from now until the end of the season !!!

off Sox topic (short trip report .. skip if you wish )- I spent a day and a half in Milwaukee with my best friend Diamond Darling. YEAH I might get some jabs (bring em on .. lol !! ) for this but I did attend a Cubs game.  I do not hate the Cubs, but my TEAM is the SOX (born and bred on the southside ).   Diamond Darling goes with me to Sox games several times a year and I have never been to a Cubs game with her (Yes, I guess I am a bad friend )!!!   Miller Park is a great place to catch a game.  The food and drink options were plentiful and the park felt smaller to me than the Cell. The people working there were also really friendly and helpful.   We had bleacher seats and the view was still good.   The downtown area is very nice with lots of food and beverage options too.   It is a pretty city also with it being on the Lake. I am a Pisces and I think I am just inclined to like places near the water.  I had the best sirloin and baked potato for 20 bucks at a restaurant called Harbor 550 after the game.   It was right on the lake with a view of the downtown area and the Milwaukee Art Museum. The food , service, and ambiance were AWESOME.   We also hit up a club called Apartment 720 later that night.  It was a nice club and the drinks were cheap compared to Chicago standards (bottle service was too if you like that-  A bottle of Kettel One was $175 dollars !!! ).  The next day we drove up north to the burb of Silverfish Bay and put our feet in the lake and just drove around and walked around.  After that we hit up the outlet mall in Pleasant Prairie.  I would love to see the Sox play the Brew Crew for Interleague play next year, count me in for another lil road trip to Beer City if that indeed happens !!!!
