That is how many games exist for the boys to play here in the regular season. The clock there is a tickin’ and the light at the end of the tunnel is starting to glisten.   There are two more games at home against the ANGELS, a four game series against TORONTO and 3 against DETROIT.  Then they take it on the road to NEW YAWK , KC , and MIN (yuck yuck yuck there at the dome ).  The finale of the season then comes back here to lovely Chi-town against Cleveland (thank goodness we end the season at home and let us hope it is a GRAND FINALE )!!  I am hoping that the boys are dealt a queen and then an ACE for Blackjack AND NOT dealt a 7, a 6, and then bust out when they reply “hit me” and a lovely king shows up for 23 !!!  At this point of the season , Ozzie and KW are definitely in a gamblin’ type of mood.   Joe Crede is most likely out for the rest of the year and so is Carlos Quentin.  I hope that he and his colleagues can learn from his mistake – do not get miffed off so much after a bad at bat and slam your hands against the bat violently.  However that is how life throws a “curve ball” at you sometimes (nice pun huh ?).  I myself have been a victim of doing something not so bright in my skating career.  I had just landed a double flip and was sooo ready to work on a double axel. I just thought hey .. I am ready to do it . It looks so nice when other skaters land it beautifully.  I know I have the power and the speed.  HOWEVER,  I really wasn’t ready to work on a double axel because I hadn’t landed a double lutz yet.  Skating jumps (just like going to school ) are all sequenced in order.  You land one jump and then you move on to the next and so forth.  Well my dumb butt decided one day to work on double axels.  I tried about five without success and then on the 6th one I landed on my right foot in an awkward position and heard a loud SNAP. UGHHHHHH … I had definitely messed up my ankle.  A lengthy trip to the podiatrist a few days later and some X Rays and MRI’s displayed a horrible sprain.  I was out for the rest of the year.  No more competitions and no ice show.  I had already been awarded a solo spot in the ice show and was absolutely devastated.   So yeah this stuff happens !! Hopefully TCQ can get his minor surgery on Monday , begin some physical therapy shortly after and be on the road back to recovery immediately.  In his absence, I do believe that Brian Anderson and DeWayne Wise will step it up and show their best stuff.  I hope Jerry Owens can get his flow back and be a good contributor also.   Burls looked awesome last night and I know we as fans can feel pretty confident with Floyd on the mound tonight.   Yeah it will be a gamble for the next 22 games,  but  I found a quarter this morning on the sidewalk while walking my dog !! I think I like the boys chances —
