I am back from my Vegas vacation !! I kept up w my boys via several Sportsbook rooms and was pretty okay with the fact that the Sox and BoSox split the series.  I thought maybe Danks would have gotten the no no on Monday, but I guess it was not meant to be. I was up $100 bucks in the MGM poker room and that went south when the tide turned for Danks !!! As soon as I  mucked my horrible starting hands I ran over to the Sportsbook to keep checking the score!! I love the west coast but it is good to be back home. Oh and if you must know , I did not come home a big winner as the money I took with me to VEGAS == stayed in VEGAS !!!

I attended Wednesday night’s game with my family (fiancee’, mom, brother, his gf , their brood of young ones {2 pre-teen boys and my 9 month old nephew J.} and Diamond Darling ). It was pretty dang exciting out there at the Cell that night.  It was almost a sell out with 37 thousand plus people in attendance.  The wave was going in full force and several beach balls were being thrown around in left field. The energy was electrifying.  Javy pitched pretty well, the defense was fairly solid, and the offense got the job done. It also was a quick moving game.  I was also pretty stoked to see Griffey play some good solid defense in center.  Swisheroo was in left field and was always entertaining.  He trots out to the field w a big smile on his face and when he gets done playing catch , he always throws the ball out to the stands.  He is definitely a fan favorite.  My mom ordered me a Swisher jersey in honor of me graduating from graduate school.  It should be coming in any day now !!! Yeahh !!!

Today as I was doing laundry and tying up lose ends from the vay kay, I kept a good watch on the game.  I was a wee bit nervous when Broadway gave up 2 runs right away.  It also looked like the defense wasn’t quite awake yet.  Did the boys party a bit too much last night with their sweep celebration ?  Fortunately , they did wake up and Broadway found his groove.  It was also very exciting to watch the boys hit back to back to back to back homeruns !!  This was last done in 2007 by the BoSox and done four other times besides that.  I was glad Konerko got in on the action because I feel he has been lacking as of late.  I was also glad to see Uribe hit one too.  I know Uribe gets alot of slack from fans, but he has been doing an awesome job there at 3rd base !!! He has a gun of an arm and can throw the ball right on the money.  I also gained respect for Uribe when he was technically demoted when Cabrera came in and took his spot AND did not complain about it one bit.

This homestand was successful and hopefully the boys can do well in Oakland.  I know statistically we don’t fare too well there , but Oakland is a fairly weak team these days. I hope we can grab two out of the three out west and then come back home for some more good wins at home.  We are also now 1 game ahead of the Twinkies and hopefully it can stay that way.
