You can’t put a price on that win !!!
Sunday’s game was worth a hundy dollar bill against the city that rocks.
Monday’s game was worth a million dollar lottery win against the motor city kitties.
BUT tonight’s game —- as they say in some credit card commerical was PRICELESS against Joe Mauer and the Twinks.
Johnny Danks was absolutely MONEY out there tonight. He knew exactly what to throw and make the Twins really work. He was extremely shaky last week, but obviously he pushed that bad start out of his mind and got the job done with intensity and flow. He definitely looked like a big game pitcher. A.J. Pierzynski’s baseball smarts at the plate didn’t allow a run to score as that block was awesome. Hey Bears — if you need someone to play defense, you might want to look up A.J.!! Thome’s bomb kept going and going and going !! I bet those people in that area where sooo thrilled to block a home run ball as they usually get shafted as home runs don’t get that far. Jenks stopped the Twinkies dead in the bottom of the 9th with what would have been save number 30 if it was a regular game.
I wrote in one of my previous blogs that winning 88 games was a big bonus since ESPN and Sports Illustrated predicted us to finish either 3rd or 4th in this division. I look forward to a day of resting my tummy as it is going to be all twisted up starting Thursday. It should be an interesting battle of really two underdogs as the Rays came out of nowhere to win the East from the fairly life long dominating Yanks and the recently dominating Boston Red Sox. The boys also don’t fare well at the Juicebox (aka Tropicana Field). I recently bought a big bottle of antacids so I think I should be okay !!
As I was riding home from an appointment this early evening, I kept seeing a bunch of the team on the north side stickers on the back of several moving vehicles. My mind then mindlessly wandered to happy thoughts of my boys. I then started to flip through the channels on the radio and the song “Don’t stop believing” from Journey came on. Yeah I know that song is so 2005, but some where in my head I convinced myself that everything was going to be okay. A few minutes later I again was flipping through the channels and the song “Let’s hear it for the boy ” from some 80′s female singer came on . I then felt even better as I giggly call the team MY BOYS. I sang and sang my heart out while trying to replace some of the words of the song with some baseball jargon instead ( I actually have a good voice as I took voice lessons in high school and won 3rd place in a bar singing contest )!!
As I wrap this up, I will enjoy a very good nights rest that again will have no monetary value on it. I know some restless nights do await !!!
go go go White Sox and thanks for your undivided attention !!
