I have been pretty laid back watching the last 3 playoff games as this to me is “bonus baseball”.  No one expected the boys to get this far and indeed today was like playing one of those Wheel of Fortune slot machines.  You play 3 credits and when the last reel lines up with the symbol that looks the big wheel on the game show,  you get to spin the wheel that sits atop the slot machine.  Even when you get a measily 25 bonus credits (1000 is the big winner ), you get all giggly and happy! Today’s game was like hitting those 25 bonus credits !!

There were many exciting aspects to the game today.  John Danks pitched wonderfully, Dewayne Wise should be called captain “clutch”, good Dotel showed up today (not evil Dotel),  many men were not left on base, and it rained prior to the game.  I guess the rain may have slowed up the Rays just a bit and if mother nature wanted to hand the boys a gift , then this was a GREAT gift !!  I am extremely excited that another game will be played tomorrow — indeed extending ”bonus” baseball.  

However, as exciting as watching this game was, I am really annoyed by the cable broadcast analysts covering the game.  They are SOOOO PARTIAL to the RAYS that it is disgusting.  I tried aligning the t.v. with the radio and they were not in sync.  We fans do understand that the Rays are an exciting team and what they are going through right now is very historic for their franchise, however, I feel that the Sox are not getting enough CREDIT for what they are doing now.  They said Griffey Jr. has slowed down over the years, how Jenks didn’t have as many saves as in past seasons,  how explosive of a personality Ozzie is and stated that Konerko was injured most of the year and that led to less production.  It made me want to cry in my tea (sorry — I don’t drink beer).  I think the only one of the analysts that had some nice stuff to say about this team over the past few days has been Curtis Granderson in the offices down southeast.  I believe he may state his case because he has played with most of the guys over the past few years and has much respect for them.  Okay big rant OVA on that topic !!!  I really am excited about tomorrow evenings game.  The baseball season for Sox fans extends for at least one more game !!
